Revel Digital is a platform capable of a wide range of applications from traditional digital signage to interactive kiosks and QR code driven mobile campaigns. In all cases the management of these deployments all utilize the Revel Digital CMS which provides the ability to register new devices, curate content, schedule content, and monitor the performance and overall health of your network and digital signage campaigns.
The guide will assist in getting your first devices up and running by stepping through the process of registering a device through to scheduling content.
Device Registration
Generally the first step in setting up your digital signage network is registering the devices responsible for displaying your signage content. Revel Digital supports a wide range of devices in various form factors. Supported platforms include Windows, Android, BrightSign, Amazon Fire TV, and Linux. All devices supported by Revel Digital are managed in the same way making it simple to support various use-cases.

Upload Media
Next up is media management. Revel Digital supports most all digital media formats including images, videos, PowerPoint, PDF, websites, RSS feeds, custom apps, and more. Media can be sources from your own local collection or from online sources such as Facebook, Pixabay, and PosterMyWall. Revel Digital does some work on the backend to ensure your media will play properly on all your devices and provide consistent playback quality. Features such as content expiration and media approval are also available for more complex management scenarios.

Playlists
Playlists are a way of organizing your content into a specific sequence for playback. Playlists can be as simple as a loop of content, or more sophisticated with conditions for playback, devices targeting, or even policies for auto-generating playlist sources. Playlist content can consist of virtually any support content type including media, RSS feeds, websites, DOOH advertising, and more.

Schedules
A schedule determines when your content is to play and on which devices. Essentially a schedule consists of what content to play, when to play it, and on what devices in your network. Revel Digital supports two types of schedule, Basic and Smart. Basic schedules are the easiest to configure with a basic set of attributes for date, time, and targeted devices. Smart schedules are a very powerful method for scheduling which relies on a set of conditional rules. Smart scheduling provides for a more dynamic approach to scheduling which becomes a necessity with larger networks.
