Your Revel device can be set up as a Flight Information Display System (FIDS), a staple of the air travel industry. Provide critical flight information to your audience with the Flight Information (FIDS) gadget. Customize the gadget to display key flight details such as Flight Number, Airline Logo and Name, Airport name of origin/destination, Arrival/Departure time, Status, Terminal, Gate, and Baggage information.
To display flight data for flights arriving or departing a given airport, enter the associated three-letter IATA airport code.
Note: It's important to use the correct Airport code from the correct code system. Avoid using codes belonging to other airport code systems (FAA & ICAO). FAA codes that match their IATA counterpart may work, but using the four-letter ICAO codes is not advised. For best results, we recommend sticking with codes from the IATA system as others aren't supported.
If you have FAA or ICAO codes instead, the associated IATA codes can be found online using tools like this airport code search & conversion tool. If you don't have an airport code to go by, you can search online or use IATA's Airport Code Search tool to find official codes. Only one airport code should be entered, as flight data is inherently limited to one airport per gadget.
For deployments at scale merge tags can be used to populate the Airport Code field with data specific to the location of each device.
Add a custom device tag with an IATA airport code to each device in your deployment.
AIRPORT_CODE=LAS
Update the Airport Code field in the FIDS gadget so that it includes only a dynamic merge tag as shown below. This will reference the airport code device tag data from the previous step.
*|VAR.AIRPORT_CODE|*
Lastly, set the gadget colors and toggle on/off preferences as needed to customize the gadget appearance and specify which flight information to display screen.
