Ubuntu Kiosk Quickstart

Initial Checklist

• x86 based PC
• Sufficient available storage (32GB+ available)
• 4GB of RAM
• A CPU with a single thread rating above 2500 on this benchmark 
• An installation of a 20LTS or above Ubuntu
• An active internet connection

Getting started

1. Power on your device and navigate to the desktop. 
2. Connect the device to the internet via Wi-Fi or an ethernet connection.
3. Open a terminal and run the following commands

sudo snap install ubuntu-frame
sudo snap install reveldigital
sudo snap connect reveldigital:shutdown
sudo snap set reveldigital daemon=true
sudo snap set ubuntu-frame daemon=true

Notes

• To exit this Kiosk hold alt+shift+1
• To enter Kiosk mode restart the player or hold alt+shift+4
• This version of Revel Player will automatically update to the latest player from the stable channel.
