Revel Digital provides a few different options for getting your Twitter feeds integrated seamlessly with your other signage content. Adding Twitter to a marquee playlist will include recent tweets in your scrolling marquees. We also provide a couple of different Gadgets for a scrolling list of tweets and for displaying Twitter photos.
Linking your Twitter account to Revel Digital
Login to your Revel Digital account and go to the profile icon. > Account Information > Integrations. Click the Connect to Twitter button. This will prompt you to login to your Twitter account and then return you to the account page.
Tweets in a Scrolling Marquee
Adding Twitter to a scrolling marquee is similar to adding any other content. You'll just need to know the Twitter screen name and we'll do the rest.
Using a Twitter gadget in a template
To add the Twitter gadget to your template just add a Gadget zone then select one of the Twitter gadgets from the list.
Configure the Twitter Gadget
With the gadget selected, you will have a number of options to choose from. The only required option is the Search Query field. This determines which tweets you want displayed. Twitter has a number of search operators. Some of the more common include:
Operator | Finds Tweets... |
---|---|
watching now | containing both “watching” and “now”. This is the default operator. |
“happy hour” | containing the exact phrase “happy hour”. |
love OR hate | containing either “love” or “hate” (or both). |
beer -root | containing “beer” but not “root”. |
#haiku | containing the hashtag “haiku”. |
from:interior | sent from Twitter account “interior”. |
list:NASA/astronauts-in-space-now | sent from a Twitter account in the NASA list astronauts-in-space-now |
to:NASA | a Tweet authored in reply to Twitter account “NASA”. |
@NASA | mentioning Twitter account “NASA”. |
politics filter:safe | containing “politics” with Tweets marked as potentially sensitive removed. |
puppy filter:media | containing “puppy” and an image or video. |
A complete list of search operators is available here: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/tweets/search/guides/standard-operators
